Troops of 143 Battalion, Forward Operating Base (FOB) Isuochi, have raided suspected criminal hideouts along the Enugu–Lopanta Road in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.
Zagazola Makama gathered from military sources that the operation was conducted at about 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 7, 2026, following reports of criminal activities targeting motorists along the highway.
During the raid, the troops arrested two suspects allegedly involved in attacks on motorists plying the route.
A driver who sustained injuries during an attack by the criminals was also evacuated to Christ the King Hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.
The arrested suspects are currently in military custody for further investigation, while efforts are ongoing to sustain operations against criminal elements operating along the highway.
