Troops of 159 Battalion, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested two suspected terrorist logistics suppliers and intercepted a large consignment of motorcycle spare parts allegedly destined for terrorists in Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.
The suspects were apprehended at about 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, while allegedly transporting the logistics items from Asaye Village in Damasak, Mobbar LGA.
Sources told Zagazola Makama, that the troops intercepted the suspects and recovered a large quantity of motorcycle components believed to have been intended to support the mobility and operational activities of terrorist elements.
The recovered items included 50 motorcycle tyres, 10 crankshafts, 50 oil seals, 31 traffic indicators, 49 acceleration cables, 46 clutch cables, 20 spindles, 10 packs of bearings, 20 brake rods, 75 gaskets and 20 motorcycle brake shoes.
Others were 80 piston kits, 146 chains and sprockets, 11 speedometers, 15 clutch plates, two packs of piston rings, 32 rocker arms, 10 CDI units, 100 shock rubbers, 10 coils, 64 Danpa rubbers, 20 rectifiers, 30 fuel taps, 50 fuel filters and 20 Pag valves.
The troops also recovered 24 hand pumps, 10 ignition keys, 10 complete clutches, 19 clutch levers, 20 Super KG spare parts and 145 pairs of footwear.
Other personal items recovered from the suspects included three mobile phones and ₦3,200 in cash.
The suspects and all recovered items were subsequently handed over to 27 Military Intelligence Regiment (27 MIR) for further investigation.
Security forces have continued to target not only armed terrorists but also their networks of informants, financiers and logistics suppliers, which provide the support required for sustained terrorist operations.
The latest operation is expected to assist ongoing intelligence efforts to identify other individuals involved in supplying materials to terrorist groups within and around the Damasak–Mobbar axis.
