The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kebbi State Council, has congratulated the Emir of Gwandu and Chairman of the Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar, on the occasion of his 21st anniversary on the throne.
In a statement issued in Birnin Kebbi, the Council described the monarch’s two decades and one year of leadership as a remarkable era of wisdom, peacebuilding, and unwavering commitment to the progress of the Gwandu Emirate and Kebbi State.
The statement, signed by the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Bello Sarki Abubakar, and Secretary, Comrade Ismail Adebayo, commended the Emir for fostering unity, promoting peaceful coexistence, preserving cultural heritage, and championing socio-economic development across the state.
According to the Council, the royal father has continued to provide exemplary leadership and fatherly guidance on issues affecting the welfare of his subjects and the nation, earning him admiration across various segments of society.
The NUJ also acknowledged the Emir’s cordial relationship with media practitioners in the state, noting that his support has contributed significantly to the promotion of credible journalism and public enlightenment.
“As His Royal Highness marks this historic milestone, we celebrate his outstanding service and dedication to humanity. His reign has been a beacon of stability, progress, and unity,” the statement said.
The Council prayed for Allah’s continued blessings upon the Emir, asking for good health, wisdom, strength, and many more years of peaceful and impactful leadership.
The NUJ joined family members, traditional rulers, government officials, and well-wishers in celebrating the monarch’s 21 years on the throne, describing the anniversary as a landmark achievement worthy of honour and reflection.
