NCAA Cracks Down on Airlines, Suspends Services to Air Peace, Arik, 9 Others Over Unpaid Charges

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has wielded the big stick against 11 domestic airlines, directing its directorates to suspend services to the affected operators over unpaid statutory charges owed to the aviation regulator.

The enforcement action followed the release of an updated “No-Pay-No-Service” list targeting airlines accused of failing to meet their financial obligations to the authority.

Airlines affected by the directive include Air Peace Limited, Ibom Air Limited, Arik Air Limited, United Nigeria Airlines, Umza Air, NG Eagle, Max Air Limited, Caverton Helicopters, Overland Airways, Rano Air and ValueJet.

Industry sources said the directive means the affected airlines could face disruptions in accessing key regulatory services from the NCAA until outstanding debts are settled.

The move is seen as part of renewed efforts by the aviation regulator to enforce compliance and improve financial discipline within Nigeria’s aviation sector.

The NCAA has yet to disclose the total amount owed by the airlines, but officials insist the action became necessary to ensure operators comply with statutory payment obligations.
