KATSINA HANDOVER: Dalha Steps In as NSCDC Veterans Exit in Grand Send-Off

A new era has dawned at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) College of Peace and Disaster Management, Katsina, as Nuhu Dalha officially takes over as Acting Commandant amid a colourful farewell ceremony for two retiring senior officers.

The symbolic baton change came as Babangida Abdullahi Dutsinma and Bishir Iliyasu Saulawa bowed out of active service after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60, closing the curtain on decades of distinguished careers.

The April 23 event, held at the College’s Sports Complex, turned into a celebration of legacy and service, drawing a large crowd of officers, family members, and well-wishers.

Emotional tributes echoed across the venue as speakers hailed the retirees for their professionalism, discipline, and humility, describing them as pillars of the Corps whose impact will endure.

In their valedictory remarks, the duo charged personnel to remain steadfast in duty, uphold integrity, and embrace dedication in service to the nation.

The ceremony also featured solemn interfaith prayers, symbolizing unity and gratitude as the retirees embark on a new chapter of life.

With cameras flashing and memories sealed in group photographs, the occasion marked both a graceful exit and a decisive new beginning under Dalha’s leadership.
