The General Officer Commanding (GOC), Operation Hakorin Damisa (OPEP), Major General W.M. Dangana, has visited Maraban Kantoma in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State for an on-the-spot assessment of the scene of a recent attack on cattle.
The GOC, accompanied by the Special Adviser to the Governor of Plateau State on Security, visited the location at about 1:00 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2026.
During the visit, Maj. Gen. Dangana interacted with the Ardo of Marit, the Berom Youth Leaders Association President, Barrister Solomon Mwantiri, and other stakeholders from the area.
The GOC stressed the need for community leaders and other stakeholders to call their wards to order and discourage acts capable of escalating tensions and undermining peace in the area.
He urged the stakeholders to work with security agencies and promote dialogue and peaceful coexistence as part of efforts to achieve lasting peace in Plateau State.
The visit was completed without incident.
