A moment of panic swept through Government Girls College, Maiduguri, this evening, prompting swift security intervention. According to officials, security agencies were immediately deployed to the school and have since restored full order.
A high-powered government delegation—including the Commissioner of Education, the Chief Adviser on Sustainable Development, and the Special Adviser on Media—is currently on the ground to assess the situation and reassure students, staff, and parents.
Authorities are urging the public to ignore circulating rumours, stressing that the situation is under control and that no misleading information should be taken seriously.
