Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has cautioned residents against spreading unverified statements on social media, warning that such content could trigger unnecessary tension within the state and across the country.
The governor issued the warning in Lokoja following the arrest of a social media user, Joy Sadiq, popularly known as *Real Mama Kogi*, who allegedly posted a viral video making claims about the relationship between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.
Governor Ododo noted that some individuals were attempting to incite crisis by sponsoring the circulation of false statements targeted at the President. He stressed that such actions pose a threat to peace and stability.
He urged parents and guardians to monitor the online activities of their children and wards to ensure they are not influenced or used by politicians seeking to destabilize the state and the nation.
