FGN, Poland Deepen Talks as Both Nations Push for Expanded Trade and Strategic Investment

Nigeria’s economic diplomacy received a major boost as the Federal Government hosted a high-powered Polish delegation to advance talks on trade, investment, and strategic cooperation.

The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, received the visiting team led by Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Africa, Wojciech Zajączkowski, in Abuja, where both sides reaffirmed commitment to strengthening economic ties.

Edun highlighted Nigeria’s improving macroeconomic landscape—driven by bold reforms, growing investor confidence, and rising fiscal stability—stating that the climate is now ripe for deeper foreign participation. He urged Poland to seize expanding opportunities in manufacturing, renewable energy, digital infrastructure, mining, agriculture, and defence technology.

Deputy Minister Zajączkowski, describing Nigeria as Poland’s top strategic partner in Africa, praised the government’s reform trajectory and expressed Warsaw’s readiness to broaden private-sector investment, enhance digital governance cooperation, and boost bilateral trade.

The two governments agreed to accelerate technical engagements, open fresh areas of partnership, and drive mutually beneficial economic growth, marking a new chapter in Nigeria–Poland relations.
