Safana Inspects Projects In Bakori, Funtua LGAs

In continuation of his inspection tour across the 34 LGAs of Katsina State, the Special Adviser LG Inspectorate Hon Lawal Rufa’i Safana on Thursday visited Katsina South Senatorial District.

Bakori Modern Market and the construction of a 200 Metre Drainage at Albarkawa Quarters in Bakori was inspected where the S A directed that the LGA and Contractors handling the project to come out with a lasting solution on the situation and provide report within a week period.

While in Funtua LGA, Hon. Lawal Safana inspected the construction work of Dukke PHC Staff Quarters which was abandoned by the Contractor for a long period. The S A therefore directed the LGA to complete the remaining percentage of the work on direct labour and to tasked the Contractor to settle the related taxes attached to the project.

The construction of 325 Metre long Drainage at Dukke and another 390 Metre long Drainage including 390 Metre Latrite Filling at Layin Mustapha Shata were also inspected successfully. But the construction of 222 Metre Drainage at Nasarawa was rejected by the S A where he gave 7-Day ultimatum to the Contractor to effect corrections given or consider the contract revoked subject to the report with pictures attached submitted to the Inspectorate within the period by the Zonal Inspector.

Other projects inspected by the S A include the construction of a 325 Drainage at Unguwar Musa, construction of culvert and provision of Solar Powered Light at Unguwar Ibrahim Grave Yard as well as construction of AMC at Funtua Local Government Secretariat.

The Special Adviser proceeded to Sabuwar Abuja Quarters where he inspected the rehabilitation and renovation of Audu Goya Community Primary Health Clinic and the ongoing construction work of Jabiri and Bagari Primary Health Centres.

Hon. Lawal Rufa’i similarly inspected a Low Level Drift constructed for Unguwar Yawa Community.

At Sabuwar Abuja Quarters, a Forum Chairman Alhaji Hamisu Abdullahi seized the opportunity to urged the state government to construct a Primary School for their children.

While appreciating the initiative on all the projects so far inspected in Funtua LGA, the Special Adviser said the aim was to ensure that the public funds are properly utilised to provide meaningful projects for the common man.
