MAIDUGURI — Troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade, in collaboration with Forest Guards and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a suspected terrorist logistics supplier at Benisheik Market in Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources said the suspect was apprehended at about 3:40 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2026, during a joint security operation at the market.

Two mobile phones were recovered from the suspect during the operation.

Preliminary information indicated that the suspect confessed to supplying logistics and providing information to terrorist elements.

The suspect and the recovered mobile phones are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.

The arrest highlights ongoing efforts by security forces and local security partners to disrupt the logistics and intelligence networks supporting terrorist operations in Borno State.

Further investigations are expected to establish the nature and extent of the suspect’s alleged involvement and identify other individuals linked to the network.
