An ordinary boarding process turned into an emotional tribute in Abuja when passengers and staff of Air Peace rose to applaud Nigerian military and police personnel preparing to board a flight.

As the officers made their way towards the aircraft, airline staff stood and applauded, creating a rare and powerful scene of public appreciation for those serving the country.

The initiative is reportedly part of a programme introduced by Air Peace Chairman, Allen Onyema, to recognise members of the Armed Forces and Police for their service and sacrifices to the nation.
Under the arrangement, military and police personnel travelling on Air Peace flights are given priority boarding, with airline employees standing to salute and applaud them as they proceed to the aircraft.
Although brief, the gesture carries a deeper message of appreciation for security personnel who routinely operate in challenging and dangerous environments while protecting communities and safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity.
Many of the officers being honoured spend extended periods away from their families, often serving in areas affected by insecurity and other threats. Their duties can expose them to significant risks, making public recognition of their service particularly meaningful.
