The Federal Government has restated its unwavering commitment to the timely completion of the landmark Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project, describing it as a transformative infrastructure that will redefine Nigeria’s economic and energy future.
Speaking after a recent tour of the project’s starting point alongside the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, the senior government official said the inspection reinforced the strategic national importance of the multibillion-dollar gas corridor.
“This administration is unequivocal—this project will be delivered on schedule,” he declared. “The AKK Pipeline is far more than steel and valves; it is the backbone of our future economic vitality.”
He noted that upon completion, the pipeline will unlock vast industrial opportunities, deepen energy security, stimulate manufacturing, and energise communities across the country—marking a decisive leap into a new era of growth driven by reliable gas supply.
The official paid glowing tribute to the workforce behind the project, commending the dedication and professionalism of the teams whose combined 31 million man-hours are translating national vision into concrete reality.
“What they are building is a legacy,” he said. “The AKK Pipeline stands as a cornerstone of our industrial heritage and a deliberate pivot toward national resurgence.”
Describing gas as Nigeria’s transition fuel, he added that the project signals the country’s readiness to harness its resources responsibly, lay the foundation for sustainable prosperity, and firmly take charge of its industrial destiny.
With momentum building on-site, the AKK Gas Pipeline is increasingly seen not just as an energy project, but as a bold declaration of Nigeria’s resolve to power itself into the future.
