Swift Police Action Foils Bandit Attack, Rescues Children in Kaduna

In a dramatic late-night operation, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested three notorious bandits and thwarted a planned attack and abduction of children in Kasuwan Magani, Kaduna State.

The suspects—Jonathan John, Oliver Magaji, and Bitrus Sawaba—were nabbed following credible intelligence that armed bandits were plotting to ambush motorists conveying children through the area.

According to police sources, the Kasuwan Magani Divisional Police Officer (DPO) received the intelligence at about 8:00 p.m. on January 5, 2026. Acting swiftly, the DPO mobilised tactical teams and deployed them to strategic locations along the suspected route.

The prompt response paid off as the police intercepted the suspects before they could carry out their plan, effectively preventing what could have been a tragic incident involving innocent children.

Security sources confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court after investigations are concluded, while the Command reaffirmed its commitment to proactive policing and intelligence-led operations across the state.

Residents of Kasuwan Magani have since commended the police for their vigilance, describing the operation as a clear warning to criminal elements that Kaduna remains hostile terrain for banditry and child abduction. 🚓✋
