STARMER DRAWS RED LINE OVER VENEZUELA RAID, SEEKS URGENT TALKS WITH TRUMP

London — UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has moved swiftly to distance Britain from the unfolding crisis in Venezuela, declaring that the United Kingdom had “no involvement whatsoever” in the controversial U.S. operation.

In a firm but measured statement on Friday, Starmer said he intends to speak directly with Donald Trump and other allied leaders to clarify what exactly transpired. “We need to establish all the facts of the U.S. operation in Venezuela,” the Prime Minister said, underscoring the urgency of diplomatic consultations amid rising global tension.

Downing Street sources say the Prime Minister is keen to ensure transparency and prevent escalation, as questions mount internationally over the legality and implications of the operation. Starmer stressed that Britain’s position remains anchored in principle rather than power politics.

“I always believe in the necessity of respecting international law,” he said, a clear signal that London will judge events through a legal and multilateral lens rather than geopolitical alignment.

The statement marks an early foreign-policy test for Starmer, who has pledged a rules-based approach to global affairs. By publicly ruling out UK involvement while calling for facts and dialogue, the Prime Minister is seeking to calm diplomatic waters—without endorsing actions that could further destabilise an already volatile region.

As allies await further briefings and reactions ripple across capitals, Britain’s message is unambiguous: distance from the operation, dialogue with partners, and strict adherence to international law.
