As Eid-el-Fitr celebrations approach, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Katsina State has launched a sweeping security operation, deploying a formidable 2,050 personnel to lock down critical assets and ensure a peaceful Sallah across the state.
The State Commandant, Abbas Dan-ile Moriki, made the bold announcement after unveiling a detailed operational plan at the Command Headquarters—signaling a no-compromise stance on safety before, during, and after the festivities.
Under the directive of Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the operation targets the protection of critical national infrastructure and high-risk locations, with deployments spread strategically across all 34 Local Government Areas.
Flashpoints and key venues under tight watch include:
Emir’s Palaces in Katsina and Daura
Central mosques and Eid praying grounds statewide
Hawan Bariki routes and celebration corridors
Government facilities at local, state, and federal levels
Both covert and overt operatives have been activated—creating what officials describe as a “watertight security network.”
Commandant Moriki has charged officers to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and inter-agency cooperation.
“There must be synergy, vigilance, and total commitment,” he stressed, making it clear that the Corps is fully prepared to neutralize any threat.
While extending Sallah greetings to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, traditional rulers including the Emir of Katsina and Daura, and the people of the state, the message carried a strong undertone: celebrate, but stay alert.
Citizens have been called upon to remain law-abiding, security-conscious, and proactive in reporting suspicious activities—reinforcing a shared responsibility for peace.
With boots on the ground and eyes everywhere, the NSCDC’s message is loud and clear:
Katsina is on guard.
As the celebrations begin, authorities are leaving nothing to chance—determined to ensure that this year’s Eid-el-Fitr is remembered for joy, not disruption.
Eid Mubarak—under maximum security.
