Russia Receives Final 2025 Batch of Su-34 Bombers as Upgraded Jets Expand Long-Range Strike Capabilities

Moscow — Russian military pilots have taken delivery of a fresh batch of Su-34 frontline bombers, marking the seventh and final shipment under this year’s state contract, officials confirmed Tuesday.

The handover, reported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, caps a steady 2025 production cycle that has seen new Su-34s rolled out at regular intervals. According to Rostec, the United Aircraft Corporation has already begun assembling aircraft slated for delivery in 2026.

The Su-34 — a twin-engine strike aircraft central to Russia’s air campaign — continues to play a key role in delivering precision-guided strikes against Ukrainian military positions during Moscow’s ongoing “special military operation.”

Defense sources say the aircraft’s arsenal has recently been upgraded once again. Crews are now equipped with aerial bombs fitted with universal planning and correction modules, extending stand-off attack capability to 200 kilometers. The enhancements are designed to allow Su-34 pilots to hit fortified or high-value targets from safer distances.

With production already shifting to next year’s fleet, the Kremlin signals no slowdown in its investment in long-range strike aviation.
