Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has revealed that in more than four decades of marriage with Bola Ahmed Tinibu, the couple has never raised their voices at each other.
Speaking while reflecting on their long-standing relationship, the First Lady said mutual respect, patience and understanding have been the pillars that have sustained their union for 40 years.
“In 40 years of our marriage, we have never raised our voice at each other,” she said, describing the relationship as one built on calm dialogue and shared values.
Mrs. Tinubu noted that marriage requires tolerance and commitment, stressing that couples must learn to resolve disagreements peacefully rather than through confrontation.
The First Lady’s remarks have drawn public attention, with many Nigerians viewing the statement as a glimpse into the personal dynamics of the couple who now occupy the nation’s highest offices.
President Tinibu and his wife have been married since 1987 and remain one of the most prominent political couples in Nigeria.
