The Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOWMAN) has organised its 31st Annual Ramadan Closing Lecture in Kaduna, with the theme: “The Importance of Reconciliation in Marriage, Business and Family.”
In her welcome address at the event, which held at the Jama’atu Nasril Islam Headquarters in Kaduna, the Amirah of FOWMAN, Kaduna State Chapter, Nafisat Musa Isah, said the lecture forms part of the organisation’s routine activities aimed at addressing issues of concern in society.
She explained that FOWMAN deliberately selects relevant topics that affect families and communities in order to enlighten members and the public.
According to her, challenges in marriages, family relationships and business interactions sometimes arise due to a lack of understanding and reconciliation.
She therefore urged participants to apply the lessons from the lecture in their daily lives and promote reconciliation in their homes, businesses and communities.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, Dallatun Zazzau, congratulated FOWMAN for consistently organising the lecture.
He encouraged the association to involve more young people, including children and grandchildren, in its activities in order to sustain the organisation for future generations.
In his paper presentation titled “The Importance of Reconciliation in Marriage, Business and Family,” the guest speaker, Dr. Yahaya Umar Abdullahi, Director of Qur’anic and Arabic Studies at Kaduna State University, highlighted the significance of reconciliation in maintaining peace and harmony in society.
He cited several verses from the Holy Qur’an and traditions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which emphasise reconciliation and its benefits.
Dr. Abdullahi also urged religious organisations to partner with government in establishing Reconciliation Standing Committees, noting that such initiatives would help reduce the number of cases taken to court.
Earlier in his goodwill message, the Director-General of the Kaduna State Bureau of Interfaith, Barrister Tahir U. Tahir, commended FOWMAN for sustaining the annual programme.
He also advised participants to adhere to the teachings of Islam in order to attain the blessings and pleasure of Almighty Allah.
