Dubai Billionaire Al Habtoor Challenges Trump in Fiery Open Letter

A prominent Emirati businessman, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, has publicly challenged former U.S. President Donald Trump, accusing him of dragging the Gulf region into a dangerous geopolitical confrontation.

In a strongly worded open letter published on his X account in Arabic, Al Habtoor warned that recent actions and rhetoric have placed the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and the wider Arab world at the center of a conflict they did not initiate.

“You have placed the GCC countries and the Arab world at the center of a danger they did not choose,” the billionaire wrote.

Al Habtoor, founder of the Dubai-based conglomerate Al Habtoor Group, stressed that while Gulf nations possess the military strength and defense systems to protect their territories, the moral question remains unanswered.

“Thank God, we are strong and capable of defending ourselves. We have armies and defense systems that protect our nations. But the question remains: who gave you the right to turn our region into a battlefield?” he asked.

Known for his outspoken views on political and social issues affecting the United Arab Emirates, the business magnate’s message has quickly drawn attention across the Middle East and beyond, as tensions continue to rise over regional security and global power rivalries.

Observers say the unusually blunt statement from a high-profile Gulf businessman reflects growing concern among regional voices over the possibility of escalating conflicts that could destabilize the Middle East.
