Troops of the 3 Brigade, in collaboration with other security agencies and local hunters, have killed two suspected kidnappers and rescued a victim during a ransom payment operation in Falgore Forest, Kano State.

Security sources said the operation took place at about 11:19 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2026, at Yan Taburmi Village in Falgore Forest, where the victim’s family had reportedly gone to deliver a ransom.

The troops and their collaborators reportedly ambushed the suspected kidnappers at the ransom payment point, killing two of them and successfully rescuing the victim.

Other members of the syndicate reportedly fled in disarray towards Falgore Forest.

During a subsequent search of the general area, the troops recovered a bag containing ₦10 million, said to be the ransom paid by the victim’s family.

The rescued victim and the recovered cash were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at Falgore Division for further investigation and necessary action.

Security operatives are expected to sustain efforts to track down the fleeing members of the syndicate and dismantle their network.

The operation highlights ongoing joint efforts by security forces and local hunters to disrupt kidnapping activities and rescue victims held by criminal gangs.
