Troops of Sector 4, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have rescued a 24-year-old man who was allegedly attacked by suspected Fulani militias along the Rarin–Sho road in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 2:00 p.m. on Oct. 7, 2026, when troops deployed at Sho responded to a report of an attack on Mafeng Samuel, who was returning from a mining site.

The victim was reportedly attacked by suspected assailants while travelling along the road.

Upon arrival at the scene, the troops rescued Samuel, who sustained machete cuts, alongside his motorcycle, while the attackers had fled the area.

The injured victim was evacuated to the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Sho, where he is receiving treatment and responding to medical care.

Meanwhile, troops have commenced offensive operations and a manhunt for the fleeing assailants within the general area.
