Radda Throws Doors Open as Grassroots Groups Rally Behind Katsina Government

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed his readiness to work with and support any political group willing to join hands in promoting the policies and programmes of his administration, as grassroots mobilisation takes centre stage in the state’s political landscape.

The governor gave the assurance while receiving two political associations—the Dikko K-34 Grassroots Outreach Mobilisation and the Forum of Caretaker Committee 2018/2019—during separate courtesy visits.

Welcoming the delegations, Governor Radda commended the resolve of both groups to organise themselves for grassroots engagement, describing their initiative as timely and strategic in the collective effort to reposition Katsina State.

“This kind of commitment will attract more support from the state government,” the governor said, noting that effective mobilisation at the grassroots remains key to sustaining development policies and winning public confidence.

Governor Radda said he was confident in the capacity of the two associations to deliver, stressing that their experience and pedigree as grassroots politicians placed them in a strong position to reach communities across the state.

“You have the experience, you have the structure, and you understand the people,” he said, assuring the groups that his administration would provide whatever support is needed to ensure their success.

Specifically addressing the Dikko K-34 Grassroots Outreach Mobilisation, the governor encouraged the group to proceed with plans to open offices across all 34 local government areas of the state, saying this would guarantee wider reach and stronger engagement at the community level.

Earlier, the Chairman of the K-34 group, Alhaji Usman Umar Yaba, said the visit was to formally declare the association’s readiness to mobilise grassroots support for government policies and programmes.

He added that the group would also embark on reconciliation efforts, reaching out to those who may feel aggrieved or sidelined, with the aim of bringing everyone together on the path of progress.

In a separate visit, the Public Relations Officer of the Forum of Caretaker Committee 2018/2019, Alhaji Hassan Kawari, said the forum comprises about 429 former chairmen, committee members, secretaries and special assistants who previously served in caretaker committees.

He explained that the association, led by Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji, now the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, is actively working to keep former caretaker committee members united within the APC, while discouraging defection to other political parties.

Reaffirming the forum’s loyalty to the state leadership, Alhaji Kawari expressed gratitude to Governor Radda for appointing members of the association into state positions, describing it as a gesture that strengthened trust and inclusion.

He also presented a letter outlining the association’s requests for the governor’s consideration.

Also speaking, the Acting Chairman of the forum and Special Adviser to the Governor on Party Liaison, Alhaji Shafiu Duwan, thanked Governor Radda for his continued support to the association, noting that the administration’s openness had further motivated members to remain committed.

With the governor’s assurance of support, Katsina’s grassroots political machinery appears set for renewed mobilisation—driven by experience, loyalty and a shared vision for the state’s future.
